Hopscotch Pattern Notes:
This pattern is very easy and repetitive. It uses a tapestry crochet technique. It will mean you need to carry your 2 yarn colors at the same time as you are moving across the area of your square where the numbers are.
***you will need the printout of each square to complete the pattern.Your purchase will include a color graph for each number which will make it easier for you to follow.***

Pattern:
***for each square you will start the same way; the only change happens with your numbers. I have provided a color graph/chart to show you how to properly complete each square.
CH 35
Row 1 – In the 2nd chain from the hook place a SC. SC in each stitch all the way across. CH 1. Turn.
Rows 2 – 40: (ch 1 counts as SC) SC into each stitch all the way across.
HOW TO COMPLETE THE TAPESTRY CROCHET COLOR CHANGES:
When you’re working the number sections of each square you will want to refer to your graph to be sure you are placing the white number stitches into the correct spots.
For example, as you get ready to go from red to white in the #1 square, you will complete the last red stitch as follows: insert hook into the red stitch. YO with red yarn and draw up a loop. (there will be 2 red loops on your hook) then with your white yarn you will place it on your hook and pull the white through both loops.
Now you’re ready to complete the white stitches. When you’re ready to stop with the white yarn, you will do the same thing working the last white SC stitch with the white yarn but finishing it off with the red yarn or whichever color you’re working.
Each row is made up of SC stitches.

HOW TO FINISH OFF EACH SQUARE AND GET THEM READY FOR SEAMING:
After you complete row 40 you will want to CH 1 and turn your work. From here you will be working yourself all the way around the square. Beginning in the space where your CH 1 is, you will want to place 3 SC all into the same stitch. This is going to be your first corner. Continue along by placing 1 SC into each stitch. When you get to the corner but sure to place 3 SC all into
the same stitch. When you get back to the beginning you will want to slip stitch to the first SC you made.
Tie off and weave in your ends.
HOW TO SEAM YOUR BLANKET:
Blanket seaming can be done several ways. For me, I simply SC around each square with the white yarn.
Once each square has the white yarn I sew them together making sure to do it in the hopscotch pattern.
