Easy Crochet Pullover Sweater – The Perfect Fall Sweater

Okay, friends, the temps are beginning to drop here in Kansas and that means we are fast approaching…sweata-weatha!

I knew I wanted to create another easy crochet pullover sweater much like the one I made last year ((Get the Simplest Crochet Sweater Pattern HERE))

For this design, I used the ever-so-lovely moss stitch! There will be a link below to a video I made featuring this stitch so you can understand the technique.

I also wanted to mention I added sizes XS-5X for this sweater because of the many requests I received for folks needing the specs for the larger sizes. I really hope you enjoy creating this piece!

Materials

  • appr. 900 – 2500 yards of worsted weight yarn. (I used YarnBee Soft & Sleek in the color Tobacco)
  • 5.5 MM hook (Get the set I use HERE)
  • Scissors (Get My Favorite Fiskars HERE)
  • Tapestry Needle (Get a Set HERE)

Pattern Notes

As I stated this design is made entirely using the Moss Stitch. Here is a link to the pattern I made using the moss stitch for a blanket ((The Elizabeth Blanket))

I also have created a video tutorial for that blanket which explains the Moss Stitch a bit more for those who might need visual instructions:

For this easy crochet pullover sweater, you will be making 4 panels: 2 identical front and back panels and 2 identical sleeve panels.

You might also notice this piece has a very retro/vintage vibe. I left the sleeves a tad shorter and you’ll notice they are even a bit flared. That being said, if you are wanting a sleeve that overlaps your wrist, all you would need to do is add more rows.

It’s very simple!

The same idea applies if you are wanting to make the top a bit longer too. Simply add more rows until you reach your desired length.

Sizes are written as follows:

XS (S, M, L, XL, 2XL, 3XL, 4XL, 5XL)

***Gauge is: 16 stitches X 14 rows = 4 inches X 4 inches

Seaming The Sweater Together

When I created the Roxy Top ((check out the FREE pattern here))

I created this little graphic so you could see how I put it together. Check it out below!

You are going to be seaming this sweater together in the exact same way.

Be sure you leave a comfortable amount for a head hole and then you can do a finishing row of SC around to give it a more clean look.

I am having trouble making this as I can’t get the gauge right. I’m Uk based and have converted the yarn correctly. Two experts have double checked me and they can’t get 8sts x 20 rows =4″ squared. Any advice please.

Hi Yasmin, I apologize, I had the incorrect gauge listed. The correct gauge is 16 stitches x 14 rows = 4 inches x 4 inches. I have also updated the pattern. Thank you so much for bringing that to my attention.

Your pattern here says you used worsted weight yarn – Yarn Bee Soft & Sleek (which is classified as Aran on Ravelry) but your pattern page on Ravelry says to use Lion Brand Woolspun, which is super-bulky weight. Which yarn is the right one?

Hi Kathryn, Sorry about that. The yarn Jerica used for the Sophia Sweater is Yarn Bee Soft and Sleek. The Woolspun listed on Ravelry was incorrect. Thank you.

  5. Thanks For Vaping

I operate a vape store directory and we have had a listing from a vape store in the USA that additionally offers for sale CBD product lines. A Calendar month afterwards, PayPal has contacted use to say that our account has been restricted and have requested us to get rid of PayPal as a payment method from our vape shop web directory. We do not sell CBD product lines like CBD oil. We only provide internet marketing services to CBD companies. I have looked into Holland & Barrett– the UK’s Well known Health and wellness Store and if you take a good peek, you will see that they offer for sale a somewhat considerable range of CBD product lines, primarily CBD oil and they also happen to accept PayPal as a payment method. It appears that PayPal is employing twos sets of rules to many different companies. As a result of this stipulation, I can no longer accept PayPal on my CBD-related website. This has constricted my payment options and currently, I am intensely dependent on Cryptocurrency payments and direct bank transfers. I have consulted a barrister from a Magic Circle law practice in London and they said that what PayPal is doing is entirely illegal and discriminatory as it should be applying a systematic standard to all companies. I am still to consult with another lawyer from a US law practice in London to see what PayPal’s legal position is in the United States. Meanwhile, I would be extremely appreciative if anybody here at targetdomain could offer me with different payment processors/merchants that work with CBD companies.
