The Perfect Fall Cardigan

I don’t know about you but Fall has been peeking its head out here and there for the last week or so. I think it’s perfect timing for the releases of the YarnHookNeedles 2018 Fall Line.

Today I am sharing with you the super simple Esmee Cardigan!

If you have ever wanted to create a garment then this pattern will surely help you accomplish that. I wanted to create a simple piece that allows you to easily customize the cardigan to fit your body type exactly. I have even created a video to help you in making the stitches as well as sizing and assembling the piece.

I love seeing everything you make from the YHN patterns so be sure to tag me on social media @yarnhookneedles so I can share it with the other makers in our community!

Here is what you will need…

MATERIALS

– 6.5 MM crochet hook

– Bulky Weight Yarn: appr. 600 – 1000 yards (I used Lion Brand WoolSpun)

– Tapestry Needles

– Scissors

ABBREVIATIONS (U.S. TERMS)

HDC – half double crochet

SC – single crochet

CH – chain

SL ST – slip stitch

PATTERN NOTES

This cardigan is made with 3 separate pieces. The back panel and 2 identical front panels are seamed together. The sleeves are constructed in the round. You will also add a finishing detail to the front panels and neck area.

Sizing is written: L (XS, S, M, XL)

If you are wanting to substitute a different yarn you can do so by maintaining a gauge of 2.5sts X 2.5rows = 1″ squared

If you are needing more of a visual instruction, I encourage you to watch the video tutorial I have created below!
