If you’re looking for that PERFECT blanket pattern, then look no further than the Strawberries and Cream blanket!
Inspired by my love for all things cozy, feminine and squishy. I designed this blanket while dreaming of warmer spring days and lots of strawberries!
Using the LionBrand yarn HOMETOWN USA (get your’s HERE) you too can make this beauty in just one afternoon! Or, if you’d rather take your time it would be a pleasant weekend project.

WHAT I USED:
- LionBrand HOMETOWN USA (new york white 3 skeins, Fort Lauderdale coral 3 skeins, providence pink 3 skeins) CLICK HERE COLOR TO PURCHASE!
- Hook Size: 8MM
- Scissors
- Tapestry
PATTERN NOTES:
I swapped out colors but you could easily do a two-color rotation or you could repeat exactly how I did. Another option would be to make the blanket in a solid color but then add a contrasting border.
Each color change happened on the SC rows. You can decide for yourself if you’d like to mimic the same color changes as me or if you want to do something different!
DIMENSIONS ARE 43in long X 34in wide
PATTERN:
CH 56 (maintain a multiple of 4 stitches + 2 to increase or decrease your blanket width)
Row 1 – In the 5th CH from the hook place 4 DC, skip the next 3 chs. *4 DC in the next CH, skip the next 3 CHs. Repeat from * across ending with 2 DCs in the last CH. CH 1. Turn.
Row 2 – (CH 1 counts as SC) SC in every st across. CH 2. Turn.
Row 3 – (CH 2 counts as DC) DC in the same ST as your CH 2, skip 2 SCs, * place 4 DCs in the next SC, skip the next 3 sts. Repeat from * across, ending with 4 DCs in SC, skip the next 2 STs and the turning CH. CH 1. Turn.
Row 4 – (CH 1 counts as SC) SC in every st across. CH 2. Turn.
Row 5 – (CH 2 counts as DC) skip the next 2 SCs, * 4 DCs in the next SC, skip the next 3 SCs. Repeat from * across, ending with 2 DCs in the last SC.
Repeat rows 2 – 5 for your desired length. Be sure you end with row 2 or row 4
***For this blanket I completed a total of 59 rows.
EDGING OPTIONS:
For the border, I did one round of SC making sure to place 88 on each of the long sides of the blanket as well as 3 SC in the same stitch on each corner. Adding the 3 SC together in the corner gives you a nice, rounded edge.
Then, I added a picot border for some extra detail.
