Today on the blog I have the pleasure of introducing you to the maker behind CaitlinsContagiousCreations.com who is sharing a fun and easy crochet dishcloth scrubby pattern with us! But first, say “hello” to our featured maker…

Make This Quick and Easy Scrubby Dishcloth Crochet Pattern!

Materials:

  • 75 yards of Red Heart Scrubby yarn
  • 75 yards of worsted weight (size 4) cotton yarn
  • size J (10 mm) crochet hook
  • yarn needle
  • scissors
  • measuring tape

Finished Size: 9 inches x 9 inches

Skill Level: Beginner

Gauge: 12 HDC x 9 rows = 4 inches wide x 4 inches tall

Abbreviations (U.S. Terms):

  • ch – chain
  • HDC – half double crochet
  • FHDC – foundation half double crochet (or use alternative method indicated in Row 1)

Pattern Notes:

Work the entire pattern with both the cotton and scrubby yarn on your hook (2 strands held together).

The chain 2 at the start of each row do not count as half double crochets.

The stitch count at the end of each row is 25 HDC.

Easy Scrubby Dishcloth Pattern:

Start with both yarns on hook.

Row 1: FHDC 25 (Alternative: ch 27, HDC in the 3rd ch from the hook and in next 24 stitches)

Row 2: turn, (ch 2 and HDC) in the first stitch, HDC in each of the next 24 stitches

Make sure you are working through both strands of yarn when you insert your hook and pull up loops.

Row 3 – 20: repeat Row 2

Cut yarns, fasten off, weave in ends, and you are done!
