Need a quick handmade gift? Then make the Lazy Sunday Beanie in less than 1 hour!

GET THE AD-FREE PDF FOR $2.99 AT THE END OF THE POST

MATERIALS:

8MM Hook

110 Yards of size 6 Super Bulky Yarn

PATTERN NOTES:

We will start this beanie off with a chain but then we will be attaching it together to form a ring. The beanie will then be worked from the bottom up.

You can add an XL faux fur pom or you can make an XL pom in a contrasting yarn.

THE PATTERN:

CH 51 – attach together to form a ring.

Rnd 1 – CH 3. DC in the same space as the CH 3. DC in each stitch all the way around. SL ST to the top of the CH 3.

Rnd 2 – CH 1. SC in the same space as the CH 1. SC in each stitch all the way around. SL ST to the top of the CH 1.

Rnd 3 – CH 3. DC in the same space as the CH 3. DC in the back loop of each stitch all the way around. SL ST to the top of the CH 3.

Rnd 4 – CH 1. SC in the same space as the CH 1. SC in the back loop of each stitch all the way around. SL ST to the top of the CH1.

Rnd 5 – repeat round 3

Rnd 6 – repeat round 4

Rnd 7 – repeat round 3

Rnd 8 – repeat round 4

Rnd 9 – repeat round 3

Rnd 10 – repeat round 4

Rnd 11 – CH 1. SC in the same space as the CH 1. * SC in the next stitch. SC2TOG (single crochet 2 together) in the next stitch. Repeat from * all the way around. SL ST to the top of the CH 1. Tie off leaving a long tail.

CLOSING THE TOP:

You will take your long tail and weave it in and out of the stitch at the top. You can begin pulling it tight so as to close the top. Once it’s closed you will sew the tail in to help secure everything.

At this point, you will add your pompom on!

Weave in your ends and wear!
