If you are wanting to learn how to knit, now is your chance! The Sunshine blanket is the perfect knit blanket pattern for anyone who is brand new to knitting or has never knit in their life!

We are gonna dive right into this pattern but I do want to mention, if you want to have more size options be sure you purchase the PDF from my shop!

MATERIALS TO MAKE A KNIT BLANKET

  • 6.5MM needles (here are some of my favorite circular needles)
  • 8 balls of Lion Brand SoftBall Yarn (2 per color)

****colors I used were: Juiced, Eagles, Rapids, Pizzazz

  • Scissors
  • Tapestry Needle

TIPS FOR HAVING SUCCESS WITH THE PATTERN:

I love creating video guides to accompany my designs. I did a VERY beginner friendly video for this pattern because I knew I wanted to entice all my crochet friends to give knitting a try + I wanted to appeal to anyone who has ever felt like they couldn’t figure knitting out.

I’ve gone slow enough for you to catch on and actually knit a blanket!

Be P-A-T-I-E-N-T with yourself!

Knitting isn’t the easiest thing to do, but if you give yourself room to mess-up and make mistakes, you will be sooo glad you stuck with it and learned how to do it!

Eventually you can graduate from simple knit blankets to more complex things like the Amethyst Sweater or the Honeycomb Sweater

But baby steps, let’s start with this project first 😉

Now that we have everything we need, let’s dive right in and get started on this awesome knit blanket which I have named, the Sunshine Blanket!

GAUGE: 3.5sts X 4rows = 1 inch squared

Once you are done you will weave in all your end, block and add a tag for that professional-handmade touch!

I really want to see your knit projects so feel free to tag me @yarnhookneedles and I will share them with our growing community!

The recommended yarn is no longer available. What might be a good substitution?

Hello, I love the blanket, this will be my first knitting project and I love the colors too. You didn’t mention what size knitting needle to use.
