Square Knit Cowl with FREE Pattern! – Yarn|Hook|Needles
Are you ready for another cowl pattern?
I hope you are! This pattern was really fun and easy to work up and I think you’ll enjoy making this cowl for yourself or a friend.
For this particular cowl, I used a knitting stitch which I shared with you a few weeks ago. It’s the Andalusian stitch.
CHECK OUT THE STITCH PATTERN HERE TO MAKE THIS COWL FOR YOURSELF!
After you’ve written out your stitch pattern, you can use the following steps to make up this cowl!
WHAT I USED:
- needles size 9
- 1 skein yarn
- scissors
- tapestry needle
THE PATTERN:
Cast on 82
Work rows 1-4 from the Andalusian Stitch pattern and continue along for a total of 112 rows. You will then attach right sides together by sewing them together with you long tail and then weaving in the ends.
As you can see in the photos I worked my stitch in a direction that makes it look “sideways”. If you wanted the cowl to look more symmetrical then you could cast on as many as you would need for the cowl to wrap around your neck and still have some slouch to it. Then you would continue working up the cowl until you reach the height you so desire.
It’s really up to you!
I hope you enjoy trying out this pattern! Be sure to let me know if you hit a road block and need help! I’d love to assist you in any way that I can!
