I love designing versatile pieces. Knitwear which can serve multiple purposes. This blanket scarf is perfect for cooler spring days but light enough to wrap up on a breezy summer evening!

Using LionBrand Heartland I created an oversized blanket scarf. With so many color options in Heartland, you will easily be able to find exactly what you’re looking for.

HEAD OVER TO LION BRAND AND PICK YOUR COLOR RIGHT HERE!

WHAT I USED:

  • 6MM hook
  • appr. 1,100 yards of size 4 yarn (I used HEARTLAND in the color Pinnacles)
  • Tapestry Needle
  • Scissors

PATTERN NOTES:

This is a very open stitch which makes it perfect for Spring and cooler summer evenings. You could easily make this in a cotton yarn if you wanted something a little more lightweight.

The pattern is written in US terms.

Gauge: 4 stitches X 1 row = 1 square inch

THE PATTERN:

CH 281

Row 1 – Place 2 DC in the 3rd CH from the stitch. *sk 6 CHs, CH 4, 5 DCs in the next CH*; repeat from * to * across ending with 3 DCs in the last CH. CH 1. Turn.

Row 2 – *Over CH-4 (3 DCs, CH 3, 3 DCs)*; repeat from * to * across ending with SC in the turning CH. CH 4. Turn.

Row 3 – *5 DCs over CH-3, CH 4*; repeat from * to * across ending with CH 2, TR( triple crochet) in the turning CH. CH 4. Turn.

Row 4 – 3 DCs in the TR, *over CH-4 (3 DCs, CH 3, 3 DCs)*; repeat from * to * across ending with (3 DCs, CH 2, DC) over the turning CH. CH 2. Turn.

Row 5 – 2 DCs in the first DC, *CH 4, 4 DCs over CH-3*; repeat from * to * across ending with 3 DCs over the turning CH.

Row 6 – 26: repeat rows 2 – 5

Tie off and weave in your ends!

If I wanted to make this gorgeous scarf a little wider, how many more chains can I add? Thank you
