The pattern I am sharing with you today is easy for those who are just starting out in the world of knitting.

I try to keep the beginners in mind when creating these designs because I know how frustrating it is to want to try out a pattern so badly, but then when you get started you crash and burn hard! I’ve done it a ton of times and still do.

My hope is you will be able to make this cowl for yourself with great ease!

This is a pattern which requires working in the round. It’s not as scary as it seems if you’ve never worked in the round. Just don’t over think it like I did in the beginning. Be brave and dive right in! There are some really great tutorials available out there on YouTube.

WHAT I USED:

  • 10MM circular needles
  • 1 skein RED HEART ‘Love’ line yarn in burgundy
  • tapestry needle
  • scissors

THE PATTERN:

Cast On 85 stitches

Round 1 – 3: work Purls all the way around until the end of round 3

Round 4 – 9: work Knits all the way around until the end of round 9

Continue this pattern repeat until you have a total of 5 purl rows. Of course, you can always make it chunkier by continuing this repeat until the work is as tall as you would like! Remember to create the things you love and if you want it chunkier then go for it!

Once you’ve completed your repeats you will then bind off the work using a traditional bind off method. Then you will weave in your tail.

Pretty simple huh?

Now if you do not know how to knit but you love the look of this cowl, I have them available in my shop for purchase! Just head below to check out the listing!
