MATERIALS:
6MM Hook
Worsted Weight Acrylic Yarn (for the baby blanket I used CARON one pound appr. 812)
Scissors
Tapestry Needle
ABBREVIATIONS: US TERMS
SC – single crochet
CH – chain
SC2TOG – single crochet 2 together
SKILL LEVEL: Basic/Beginner
How to create the sc2tog stitch:
- Insert your hook into the CH 1 space and draw up a loop.
- YO and draw through one loop.
- Insert your hook into the next CH 1 space, YO and draw up a loop.
- YO draw through all three loops on your hooks.
***to begin another cluster or sc2tog you will start in the same CH 1 space you ended in. Below is a photo for reference

***DIRECTIONS: This blanket is simple and easy! It is a two-row repeat and works up fast. You’ll notice a simple SC border placed around the blanket. You can easily exchange this border for something if you so desire. At the end of the pattern I have included photo tutorials for making the cluster stitch and I have also created a video to help guide you along as well.

Baby Blanket: 30”X 36”
CH 90
Row 1: SC in the 2nd CH from the hook. * CH 1- Skip 1. SC into the next CH. Rep from * across ending with a SC in the last stitch. CH 1. Turn.
Row 2: SC in the same space as the CH 1. CH 1. SC2TOG in the previous row’s CH 1 spaces. ///refer to video or photos for instructions/// CH 1. *SC2TOG placing the hook 1st in the same CH space you ended the previous SC2TOG and then place your hook into the next CH space to end your SC2TOG. CH 1 Rep from * across ending with a SC in the last stitch, skip the turning chain. CH 1. Turn.
Row 3: SC in the same space as the CH 1. *CH 1, SC into the CH 1 (between the clusters/see photos) Rep from * across ending with a SC in the last stitch, skip the turning chain. CH 1. Turn.
Rows 4 – 108 are a repeat of rows 2 & 3.
For the border you will simply SC all the way around making sure to add 3 SC together in each of the 4 corner spaces.
Tie off. Weave in your ends!”
