- 5mm
- tapestry needle
- scissors

Instructions
Chain 146: To begin, grab your yarn and hook, and chain 146 stitches.
Row 1: In the second chain from the hook, place 2 single crochets (SC) into the same space. SC in each of the next 7 stitches. Skip 1 stitch. SC in the next 7 stitches. Place 3 SC in the next stitch. Repeat from * to * until you reach the end, ending with 2 SC in the last stitch. Chain 1 and turn.
Row 2: Place 2 SC in the same space as the chain 1. SC in each of the next 7 stitches. Skip 2 stitches. SC in the next 7 stitches. Place 3 SC in the next stitch. Repeat from * to * until the end, ending with 2 SC in the last stitch. Chain 1 and turn.
Rows 3-222: Repeat row 2 until your blanket reaches the desired length.
Finishing Touches: Once you've reached the desired length, tie off your yarn and weave in any loose ends to tidy up your masterpiece.
Bonus Tip: If you're itching to add a splash of color to your blanket, why not try striping? Simply determine the number of rows needed to complete your desired size, then divide it by the number of colors you'd like to use. For example, if you want to use 4 colors and your total rows are 108, you'll complete 27 rows per color to achieve even stripes.
Notes
Abbreviations:

Gauge: Before we dive into the project, let's ensure our stitches are on point. For this pattern, 3 rows and 3.5 stitches should measure approximately 1 inch squared.
Throw/Twin Size Blanket (39”x74”):
You'll need approximately 2100 – 2200 yards of yarn for this size.
Throw/Twin size blanket (39”x74”)
***appr. 2100 – 2200 yards of yarn
Ch 146
R1 – in the 2nd ch from the hook place 2 SC into the same space. *SC in each of the next 7 sts. Skip 1. SC in the next 7 sts. Place 3 SC in the next stitch.* Repeat from * to * ending with 2 SC in the last stitch. CH 1. Turn.
R2 – Place 2 sc in the same space as the CH 1. *SC in each of the next 7 sts. Skip 2. SC in the next 7 sts. Place 3 SC in the next stitch.* Repeat from * to * ending with 2 SC in the last stitch. CH 1. Turn.
R3 – 222: repeat row 2.
Tie off, weave in your ends
****if you’re wanting to do a stripe, simply take the number of rows you need to complete the size and divide it by the number of colors you would like to use. For ex. If you want to use 4 colors. Take 108 and divide by 4 for a total of 27. You would then complete 27 rows per color in order to have even stripes.

Thank you so much for this Chevron pattern! I’ve always loved and done the ripple stitch and well one day it just left my memory. Could be age, could be the brain surgeries but whatever my situation I stuck with it and found you and I’m so grateful. It’s your pattern and YouTube video that click and make sense to me.
Meredith Jarosz
I was wondering if you did a border on best beginner chevron blanket?

To make this throw, using your stripe design and using 4 colors like you did, are you saying that it will be 39” by 74” and how much skeins of yarn each will I need? I know you said I would need approximately need 2100-2200 yards of yarn but I don’t know how many skeins of yarn I would need each? So would you kindly tell me? I am a beginner and I’m so excited to make this for my daughter and her husband. He’s in the Military. This will be my second project besides learning how to make washcloths with the Sugar and Cream cotton yarn which was very difficult to make with the yarn which was not very forgiving.
Thank you,
Sandra
Jerica
This sounds like an exciting project you will be beginning for your daughter! If you are wanting to mimic stripes, you will need about one skein of the recommended yarn per stripe.

shirley lynn

shirley
how do you weave in the ends on the chevron blanket? thank you
Barb McBride
If I want a wider blanket, would I do 16 and then 16 and 2 and again 16 and 16 and 2 until my desired width?
Erin
When you’re trying to figure out how many rows you need for your stripes where are you getting the 108 at to divide by how many colors you are using?
Janice Bloodworth
You make it look easy. I want to do this for a baby blanket about a 36×36 or 36×40″ blanket.
Rhonda
Hi, I’m new to this and only made one other project. Do you continuously do the chevrons or do you stitch the 2 to make the width? I’m a little bit confused!
Erin
I’m confused, are there 222 rows or 108 (like when you describe the color change)?
Kathi
How many skeins in each color?
Kathleen M Parks
Where did you come up with 108 to see how many rows of each color? I am using 3 different colors.
Ashleigh
How do you work 2 SC into the same space as the CH1? That’s the only thing I’m having trouble with
Ashleigh
I’ve tried doing the 2 SC into the first stitch in the row, but now the edges are going out diagonally
angela mcneal
Can you tell me how many chains I need for a king size blanket? I dont need the whole pdf pattern just the chains
Alisha coffey

Ashley
To make a wider blanket is it 16+2 16+2 16+2 and so on till desired width or 16+16+16 and add 2 at end? Also would this pattern be the same no matter what size? First time trying the chevron blanket pattern and I’m confused.
Susan
I would like to try and make this throw. I am a beginner and was wondering how many rows if I used two different colours. Thank you
Carolyn
New at this, do you add 2st every 16?or do you add at end of row,say like146?I want big throw,I’m doing something wrong, help
vicki B
Finally a pattern that doesn’t have the Dc2tog on the end of the row! I want to do this in DC. I am assuming at the beginning of the row you would chain 3 instead of 1. Thanks !
Jennifer
I’m new at this. I don’t understand how many rows I need of each color like u did. I want to use 3 colors and white like you did. Thanks for the pattern. Your colors are pretty.
kristin parker
I am a beginner….My ends are not staying even. I am counting as I go what am I doing wrong.
Cherie
In your video you say ch1 in the pattern it do not ch1 what should I do
Julie Occhionero
If you are making the blanket in 2 colors, and it a total of 224 rows, how many rows for each color?
Nelda
I’m about to start this project but am a little confused about the stripes of different colors. I’m wanting to do 4 colors but I’d like to have those 4 repeat about 3 times each. So for the throw size blanket how many rows of each color would I do at a time before switching?
Nancy I Lefsyk
For the first row when you skip a chain, it says skip 1 chain
on the second row it says skip two chains.
This did not work for me
Please explain
KELLY CAUFIELD
Your video and written directions counterdict each other. Your video says to skip 2 stitches but does not say that in directions for row one. I’m new at crocheting so maybe I’m just not understanding.

Jackie
Can you use this pattern to make the cheverons wider if you still maintain the multiple of 16 plus two
Teri Zimmerman
If you only wanted to use two colors and one color less rows how would you do it on this pattern.
Carrie
I love this blanket and have never made a Chevron one before! I am going to make it for my sister in law that is expecting her first baby. Do you have easy instructions on completing a border?
Elaine
As a beginner, I love your patterns. Thanks for sharing.
