Today’s Holiday pattern is a fun crochet ear warmer with an oversized heart applique!
I really loved making this for you to enjoy and I think it is absolutely adorable. Keep in mind, the heart doesn’t have to be this size, you can easily size it down by using a smaller hook or thinner yarn.
For this project, I used a RED HEART hot pink yarn and a Bernat Super Chunky Yarn. The hook size was J.
- Hot pink yarn (for ear warmer)
- Chunky yarn (for heart)
- size J hook
Basically, I created a ribbed by using the following pattern…
- CH 16
- ROW 1 – HDC in second CH from the hook, continue all the way across, CH 1, Turn
- ROW 2 – HDC in BACK LOOP ONLY all the way across, CH 1, Turn
- ROW 3 – 46 Continue with the ROW 2 repeat until your band fits around whatever size head you need. If for an adult 46 total should be right around the correct amount. For a child, you would need to go smaller and for a toddler or baby even smaller.
You can find standard head measurements on my Pinterest boards!
Once you’ve created the band you sew the ends together with a tapestry needle, tie off and weave in the ends.
