When I am scrolling my Instagram feed and I stumble across those videos or photos where they are wrapped in the giant roving…I’m literally drooling!

I discovered this gorgeous yarn one day while walking through the aisles of Hobby Lobby. I fell in love with the texture, colors and thickness immediately! I knew I had to do SOMETHING with it!

So I grabbed several skeins and started home.

Don’t you hate it when you fall head over heals for a yarn and then no matter what you do you can’t figure out what you want to make???

This was me with this gorgeous stuff. I think I started and frogged about five or six ideas until I landed on exactly what I believed to be the best solution!

I’m sharing with you this SUPER simple pattern for an oversized crochet scarf! It’s only 3 rows of crochet and because of the size of the yarn and needle used this works up in about 20 minutes!

Another awesome thing is that this scarf has several color options. Yarn Bee is the brand at Hobby Lobby and I believe they have about 4-5 different choices. There is a black, white, slate gray and gray combo which I believe would be absolutely gorgeous!!!

WHAT I USED:

  • 25 MM hook
  • 5 skeins of yarn
  • scissors

THE PATTERN:

Using the large 25MM hook I started by CH 83

R1 – SC in the 2nd CH from the hook, continue with SC all the way across, turn

R2 – SL ST in every chain all the way across, tie off and weave in the ends

Pretty easy huh??

I didn’t want to get too technical because honestly, with a yarn this large and colorful you don’t need to make things too complicated!

I am able to wrap this scarf a total of three times around my neck with a decent amount of tail left over on both sides.

I will say, this piece is VERY warm so if you are in a city or area of the world which receives a lot of snow, you’ll most certainly LOVE this project!
