I recently sent out an email to my awesome subscribers asking what were some new projects they would like to see. Several of them responded with baby items!
So today I am sharing this super simple crochet crib rug pattern!
I loved making this for a custom order that was placed in my Etsy Shop
I couldn’t help but think of you all and your desire to have more baby/kid products so I created this particular pattern with you all in mind!
This is a PERFECT beginner project and something which can be completed in less than 5 hrs. It took me right under 3 hours from start to finish.
The yarn I used is so plush and scrumptious too!
I am strongly considering making a larger rug for our homeschool area but it will have to be after our little one is born! If I wind up doing an area rug I will for sure create a slightly different pattern and share that one here with you all too!
Do you have ideas for certain types of home good crochet patterns? Comment down below and I will work hard to create something!
WHAT I USED:
– size N hook
– 2 skeins of Bernat Blanket yarn in (1)grey (1)white
– tapestry needle
You can decide whichever color you prefer to start the rug. Or if you’re doing a solid color then you won’t. Have to worry about how many rows for each stripe. Just keep going until you reach the correct length.
R1 – in the 2nd ch from the hook place a HDC (half double crochet), continue with HDC all the way across, ch 1, turn.
R2 – HDC in same ST as the CH 1, continue with the HDC all the way across, ch 1, turn.
R3-6 – repeat row 2
R7-12 – repeat row 2
R13-18 – repeat row 2
R19-24 – repeat row 2
R25-30 – repeat row 2, tie off and weave in the ends.
IDEAS FOR ADDED EDGING
I considered adding an edging such as tassels but then changed my mind because I knew it wouldn’t fit the overall theme this rug will be in. Other ideas along with tassels would be fringe, pompoms or whatever else you can imagine!
Really have fun with the overall design and try out something you would REALLY enjoy!
